In 2007, Phil Laak and Ali Eslami squeaked out a narrow victory against Polaris and it’s creators. Polaris is back and refined to go up against 5 competitors hand picked by http://www.stoxpoker.com founder Nick Grudzien.

The Man Machine Event is a competition pitting a team of Poker players against the University of Alberta's advanced poker bot Polaris. The game is a $500/$1000 Limit Heads Up Texas Holdem, with a duplicate reverse match system (the same cards are dealt in both games but the human and bot is reversed in the second match).
