As the clock hit 5:10 p.m., visitors to Uptowne Galion, including several dozen children, scanned the east for any sign of the parade. As the crowd waited, one family was overheard commenting on the joys of living in a small town, while one lady took the delay as an opportunity to make a quick trip into The Evergreen Company. One small girl exclaimed, “I can’t believe that I am going to see Santa again!”
Once the parade came into sight, onlookers waited for it to make its way to Public Square. At the same time, a forlorn driver found herself stuck in the Square, headed face-to-face with the lead Galion Police Department cruiser. She backed up carefully, and the parade then continued to its finish at Park Square.
