What options do you have if your printer isn’t a Canon?  If you have a Lexmark or HP printer it is worth checking to see if there is a larger capacity cartridge available, these work out much cheaper over time, as much as 50% or more.  These cartridges are usually easy to identify as most of them have the suffix XL.  You can also check how much ink HP and Canon cartridges contain by looking at the boxes, unfortunately the current Epson packaging does not have this information on it.  Lexmark do not include this information on their packaging or on their website and it is perhaps not very surprising that many printer reviews show Lexmark as the most expensive to run.
