A jury trial for an Oshkosh woman accused of punching a toddler in the stomach so hard that the child died has been delayed after her lawyer requested additional time to obtain a doctor to help prepare the woman's defense.

Koepf died Jan. 3, 2007 after being taken to Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh. She was pronounced dead after numerous attempts to revive her.

According to the criminal complaint, Scott was baby-sitting Koepf and was getting ready to take the girl back to her mother when she asked her to fold up some blankets. The girl did not obey and that upset Scott, who punched the girl in stomach twice. Koepf then fell backward and hit her head on a liquor bottle.

While Scott was taking Koepf home to her mother, she noticed Koepf was slumped over in the backseat of the car. Scott became concerned and took the child to the hospital, where she later died.
