The suspension system of torsion beam enables configuration of an easy riding height. The torsion beam is small as per the width of the vehicle and durable enough. The torsion suspension system consumes lesser space of the interior volume of the vehicle’s interior space and still provides longer travel durability. But it has its own trade offs as the car designers have to bargain between the riding and handling quality of the car as a torsion bar suspension cannot have an improving spring rate. Although, there are other torsion bars present in the market called progressive torsion bars but then these are not as durable as the torsion bar suspension because they develop cracks when the diameter of the bar is changed.
