Île de la Cité, France ... software is used to bring together separate exposures, sometimes over 100, in order to create each planet / Alexandre Duret-Lutz

"Shoot enough pictures the cover the viewable sphere. Depending on your lens and camera, that can take between 100 and four pictures." / Alexandre Duret-Lutz

"I actually use two tools to do this: one (hugin) to distort the pictures and lay them out like a puzzle with overlapping pieces, and another one (enblend) to stitch these overlapping pieces together." / Alexandre Duret-Lutz

"I usually have to erase my feet or my shadow, for instance. If the pictures were taken handheld, there are often parallax errors to fix." / Alexandre Duret-Lutz
